this limited edition 7 vinyl from mcm, released in conjunction with headcount records is a little slice of history. the former lyricist and front-man of the pioneering uk hip hop crew, caveman delivers two solid joints. caveman was the first uk hip hop group to get signed to a major label and signed to profile records in 1990. the crew quickly established themselves as one of the uks most popular and versatile acts. over 20 years after the first caveman album, mcm is back. the a side cut, r.e.a.l (rhymes equal actual life) is featuring fellow high wycombe emcee c-lone and is produced by rinse dog with the cuts by mr brown. the b-side cut is through and through mcm.

after highlighting two young french talents for its first releases with madben and oniris, astropolis records now invites two french techno legends for its third release. the driver, techno aka for french rave key figure manu le malin and techno veteran electric rescue join their forces for a first 12 inch * the wolves * : a dark fang strike, fierce, beastly. the encounter of these two french techno activist couldnt have result in anything else than an explosiv termination : two raw and nagging techno tracks blending up both artist proper musical background.

after a decent hiatus a.r.t.less finally returns for some serious techno action

the third in the modular techno series from live analogue artist and freerotation organiser steevio. after 15 years of producing techno live on hardware, in 2009 steevio began building a dedicated machine on which he could totally improvise an entire techno performance from a blank canvas that far surpassed anything he could do with his previous setup of drum machines and synthesizers. steevio’s modular is 100 analogue, there is no computer involved, there are no memories to save sounds or sequencing patterns, and everything is improvised in real time.. volumes 1 and 2 of the series were just a taster of what was to come, and were the early experimentations on steevio’s newly built machine. steevio records everything he does, especially during the intense practice sessions for live gigs. all the music in the series are out-takes from these practice sessions, and the tracks from volume 3 and the forthcoming volume 4 all come from a three day period in practice for a recent live gig at delete, bournemouth, uk. volume 3 continues from where volume 2 left off but delivered with more confidence and a deeper more hypnotic feel. steevio continues to develop his skills and fine tunes his unique instrument in this dedicated for life project.

following their acclaimed debut album, migration, on prins thomas internasjonal label in 2012, jamie paton and nigel hoyle (aka nigel of bermondsey) have seemed relatively quiet save for the odd remix here and there. tucked away deep in their south east london base though, a series of remixes and solo projects have been steadily forming. with new c&a material planned for 2014, plus more to come from jamies new solo efforts, as well as nigel making a long overdue reappearance in maurice & charles, now seems the right time to draw a line under their collective work to date. here then are a collection of unreleased interpretatons, including the sought after vocal remix of psychedlic darlings, in goats anthemic run to your mama. this is followed by a late night dub of 80s pop duo blancmange that mixes strings, guitar and some dub bass with a dose of space echo before bringing neil arthur s classicly recognisable refrain shining through. to finish is a remix of goats label mates teeth of the sea. fx-soundtrack vocal, bubbling 303 and 808 combine on a proper 3am dub that builds beyond some mere drug-chug.

hobo (minus, hot creations, tronic) launches his new imprint, soundz, by finally releasing his highly acclaimed hit mind games. after tearing up ibiza and the world over this season, mind games is finally clawing its way out of select record boxes and into record stores everywhere. joining mind games is its evil twin, public lies. equally epic, public lies builds to a fever pitch with familiar but not quite normal synth tones soaring wildly overhead. two monster jams to kick off soundz in that familiar hobo style.

third release for serie limitée. still 300 copies, 180g, no digital and no repress. a1 is, once again, reserved to chicagos underground pioneer joey kay who released his first record back in 1994. a raw house track with a neverending intro. the next track is pure deepness with another production from moscows young talent shyam. as deep and dark as russia s winters.. as usual to complete this side, the label manager, monsieur cedric, prepared a short bonus track. on the b side, the french co-founder of serie limitée, steve frisco, strikes back with a classic deep sound inspired by the early 90s after hours... ... while our friend from denmark, desos, owner of deso records, vibes ltd etc... closes the third volume of this story with a nice and deep house gem.

*it all started in 1974 with the purchase of my first mini moog and another 70s dream machine, a white mellotron m 400.* so starts klaus hoffmann of his 40 years love affair with the mellotron. moving from prog-rock guitarist to cosmic disco warrior in a space of a few years, the birth of cosmic hoffmann would lead to a number of classic kosmiche albums through-out the 1980s. before this though came space-disco. initially recorded in 1978 after endless late night sessions exploring the new realms of this free form electronic music, the first incarnation was recorded live to tape for a failed film project. an uplifting spaced-out synth journey, it was the later reworked version that would go on to become the lost cult classic. with added disco syncopation taking the track into interstellar spheres, it appeared only as a flipside of cosmic hoffmanns first and last single, *weltraumboogie*, in 1982. unfortunately the release did not make much impression at the time but has become highly sought-after for the more leftfield dj and music lovers in the years since. now fully licensed and remastered, the inclusion of the unreleased 1978 original will be only add to the collectors dream.

italian producer domenico camarilla has hit a rich vein of form under the jose manuel guise of late, supplementing output on his own black pepper label with feted appearances for tusk wax, is it balearic?, lectric sands and citizen kanes disques sinthomme. given his profile, a union with the soft rocks affiliated kinfolk label makes utmost sense and jose manuel fans will find much to enjoy about ajna. both the title track and *the clear after the storm* are steeped in eastern mysticism and feature heavy percussion from the man manuel, whilst the accompanying soft rocks remix will appeal to fans of rabih beainis *tanki tanki* edit.
